Montreal backup Antti Niemi is slated to start in net for the Habs tonight and a lot is being made about the Sabres facing a parade of back up goalies during this win-streak. However, it should be noted that Buffalo beat Price and Vancouver Canucks No. 1 Jacob Markstrom to start this roll and also defeated Devan Dubnyk of the Minnesota Wild,

Price is the better goalie, but Price's stats are just about as mediocre as Niemi's, and Price had the touchdown dropped on him last game. I think the Canadiens are playing who they think gives them the better chance. I would probably agree

Ek has us sending Skinner and prospects to the Leafs for Willy Nylander.

The guy must be on brown liquor.

And Skinner will resign for them for $5M...you know cause the Leafs backed themselves into a corner buying JT.

I don’t think MTL is the better team but we have had a tougher schedule in the last while.

We will need to play well.

EK is trolling big time. Skinner wants to go to the Leafs and the Leafs have room for him in their budget. Right. Marner is 10+ and Matthews is 11+. Tavarers is already 11. Skinner is worth 8 to 8.5 right now. Let's say he takes a "home town discount at 7 million. That's 39 million on 4 players! Plus they can't afford to give Nylander 7 million, how are they going to give Skinner 7+?

I guess EK is trolling for hits on Black Friday.

I think he is saying to trade Nylander for top prospects and then sign Skinner on July 1st. Could be wrong. I say, try it Leafs… then we should resign Skinner.

Price is not earning his 10m right now, Niemi is probably their best chance of winning.

It's click bait.

Worst case scenario we got what we paid for him back at the deadline. IF the Leafs were to sign him in the offseason, they're going to be sending Marner or Mathews packing, which would be hysterical.

I am very confident he will resign right around New Years. He can be the man here, have an elite center to play with AND Buffalo is rising fast. We check the boxes. If he was a die hard leafer, methinks he'd have held out on a trade from Carolina instead of waiving his no movement clause to join their biggest in-division rival.

You seen his last two games? Price is in a bad place right now. Niemi is the best chance to win.

I would say we would definitely get more value trading Skinner at the deadline than what we gave up to get him. At minimum there would be a 1st in the deal as well as another pick and prospect. That being said, I doubt we trade him unless they know that he won't resign here.

Also, if they do agree on a new contract, I don't think it would be signed until after the trade deadline.

Eks idea of Skinner plus prospects for Nylander is laughable. If anything I would say it would need to be Nylander + for Skinner. It would be interesting to see if adding one Nylander could have a positive impact on another Nylander.

If somehow we are out of the playoff picture at the deadline, I would not be opposed to trading Skinner for the best package available and then signing him in the offseason.

If its of the 8 year variety it has to wait until after the trade deadline, if it is anything less than 8 years they can sign it now
